   Phantoms finish 6th place at Panther Invitational
The Phantoms returned to the mats after a 2 week break and returned with solid performance behind Justin Meyers winning the 113lb bracket. Other place winners for the Phantoms were Angelo Franzone who finished 2nd at 152lbs. Anthony Stevenson who all season has given up some weight to go 170lbsfinished 2nd as well. Liam McAdam also left William Tennent High School with some hardware with a 4th place finish. Other solid performances were by Owen Koch 3-1, Jude Daley 2-2 Ethan Smith 2-2, Nolan Martin 2-2 and John Volpe finishing 2-2. The next time the Phantoms hit the mat will be at the PIAA DISTRICT 1 NORTH TOURNAMENT at Pottstown on 2/21 2/22          

Phantoms fall to Pottsgrove: Finish 3-2 in Frontier 
In front of a very packed Middle School gym full of alumni and family and friends, the phantoms fell victim to the Falcons 51-24. Giving up 4 forfeits due the phantoms knew they had an uphill battle. starting off at 145lbs Ethan Smith fell victim to a Josh Cerito cradle. the next 4 bouts went the way of the phantoms including two back to back amazing matches where Angelo Franzone and Owen Koch literally had to wrestle to the final buzzer to secure a 7-6 win for Angelo and a 6-5 win for Owen.  Anthony Stevenson and Dave Polanki wrestling their last match at Phoenxiville each got first period mat slaps to give the phantoms a 18-6 lead which the falcons did not blink before taking a 30-18 lead before Justin Meyers earning a forfeit at 113lbs. the Phantoms return to the mats after this weekend off to travel to William Tennant for the Panther Invitational on 2/8/20. 

Phantoms finish 2-1 at Shoemaker Shuffle
6 Phantoms led the Phoenixville High School Wrestling team secure its first winning season since 1999. Following a very tough first round loss to Academy Park 32-31, the Phantoms rebounded and took the last day duals of the day to finish 2-1 and take a 5th place finish at the Shoemaker Shuffle at Radnor High School.  6 phantoms went 3-0 on the day including Justin Meyers, Mason Koch,Jake Geiger, Ethan Smith, Owen Koch and Roman Ciaverlli. Dave Polanki and Matt Wallence went 2-1 on the day. 
Phantoms go 3-1 at Buckley Duals

Behind 4 phantoms going 4-0 on the day, the Phoenxiville Phantoms High School Wrestling team walked out of a snowy Haverford School with a 3-1 record to finish 2nd at the Buckley Duals. The final bout vs Franklin Towne Charter was cut short due to the snow and the bout did not happen.  going 4-0 for Phoenxiville were Ethan Smith at 145lbs, Angelo Franzone at 152lbs,  Owen Koch at 160lbs and Anthony Stevenson at 170 the Phantoms posted wins over Haverford School(45-24) Central High (39-35) and George Washington (57-12) The lone loss came to the hands of West Chester East 41-34. Dave Polanki and Mason Koch each finished 3-1 on the day as well.  The Phantoms return to the mat on 1/22/20 in a very big match on the road against Upper Perk.
Phantoms Celebrate 4 Seniors and Stay Unbeaten in Frontier with win over Pope John Paul II. 

Celebrating the 4 Phantom seniors Bobby Krause, Angelo Franzone, Anthony Stevenson,and Dave Polanki, the Phantoms got back in the win column with a 49-21 win over Pope John Paul II. The Phantoms are now 3-0 in Frontier with two huge matches in the horizon. Grabbing a bunch of forfeits and with wins by Anthony Stevenson, Dave Polanki and Roman Ciaverlli, Phoenxivlle built a 38-0 lead before the Panthers saw the scoreboard when Nolan Martin gave up a takedown in overtime at 285lbs. The panthers went on to win the final two contest bouts of the night to end the dual meet with the Phantoms winning 49-21.

Phoenixville plagued by injury  and mishaps ended their winning streak going back to their last loss vs Great Valley to a very good CB East team 57-12. The only wins of the night were by Angelo Franzone who managed to escape in the ultimate tie breaker and won 7-6 at 152 lbs. Anthony Stevenson and Dave Polanki each also had wins for the Phantoms.  Phoenixville will look to right the ship with Senior Night on 1/15/20 vs Pope John Paul II. 


Phantoms Finish 7th Behind 7 Place Winners at the PAC Championships.
Following big wins vs Penncrest and Pottstown, the Phantoms tried to keep the steam rolling heading into the PAC Championships. Sending only 11 wrestler to the tournament, Phoenixville placed 7 wrestlers in the top 5. Antonio Valenteen and Owen Koch both finished 2nd with Angelo Franzone, Anthony Stevenson and Dave Polanki finishing 4th. Ethan Smith and Justin Meyers each placed 5th to place the phantoms with 108.5 points only 3 points behind Upper Perkiomen and 5 points behind 5th place Pottsgrove. The Phantoms will have a busy week next week with 6 matches on slate with 2 dual meets and 4  at Haverford. 


Phantoms Handle Pottstown to Remain Unbeaten in the Frontier                        \
Phoenixville returned to the mats after its blowout win vs Penncrest to keep the steam rolling with a 51-21 win over PAC Rival Pottstown. after losing the first bout of the night with a tough fought match  at 145 which ended up with Jared Hewitt outlasting Matt Wallence 4-2, the phantoms went on a streak from 152-195 where they held a 27-3 lead and never gave it up. With wins by Angelo Franzone at 152, Owen Koch at 160, Anthony Stevenson at 170 and Dave Polanki at 182. Roman Ciaverlli put together one of best performances of the night with a 1:52 pin at 195.  Nolan Martin, Justin Meyers Antonio Valenteen and Mason Koch also put together wins as well. The Phantoms returns to the mats on 1/11/19 when they will wrestle the first ever PAC Championships at Pottsgrove. 


Phantoms Put A Pinning Clinic on Penncrest with 6 straight Falls

Phoenixville HS Wrestling team started 2020 the way they ended 2019.. with a bang!!! With six pins from 113 to 145, the Phantoms handled Penncrest 60-12. Starting off at 220, Dan Grey held on to a 4-2 decision. Liam McAdam put on a take down clinic at 285lbs. The fft at 106 gave the Lions its first points. They will not see the scoreboard until the second to last contested bout of the night.  At this point the Phantoms went on a pin spree. Justin Meyers at 113, Antonio Valenteen at 120, Mason Koch at 126 all landed falls. Jake Geiger and John Volpe both picked up their first varsity wins of their careers each earning a fall. Matt Wallence also picked up a fall at 145. Angelo Franzone did what he does best this year securing a big decision win. Anthony Stevenson finished the night with a nice take down clinic at 170. Dave Polanki and Roman Ciaverli picked up forfeits at 182 and 195.  The Phantoms return to action on Wednesday 1/8/20 when they travel to Pottstown. 
Phantoms start season on good note finishing 3rd at Cedar Crest Duals

The Phoenixville High School finished 3rd at the Annual Travis Manion Duals at Cedar Crest High School. With wins over Cedar Crest(54-21) and a revenge match from last year with LaSalle which the Phantoms finished on the good side of the meet with a 38-34 win. The only loss was to eventual champion Abington 41-33.

Finishing 3-0 on the day were Owen Koch, Dave Polanki and Antonio Valenteen. 

Phantoms Battle for Route 29 falls short Against Great Valley 38-34

The PAHS Phantoms fell short in the Battle for Rt 29 vs crosstown rival Great Valley. The Phantoms started off with two nice falls from Justin Meyers and Antonio Valenteen but the Patriots winning the next 4 bouts including a heartbreaking loss at 152 for the Phantoms. The Phantoms began their own rally winning 160-195 with Angelo Franzone winning by Major decision before back to back to back falls from Owen Koch, Anthony Stevenson and Dave Polanki. Sadly the Patriots sealed the dual at 220 when Patriot Aidan O' Neil turned Dan Gray while Dan was holding onto a solid lead.

Phantoms Flex Some Muscle in  PAC Opener Win vs Upper Merion
Phoenixville needed to bounce back after its close loss to Great Valley last week and they did so in a big manner. Locking up a 60-18 win over PAC-10 rival Upper Merion, the Phantoms started off with wins at 195,220,285, 113 and 120 before giving up the next 18 pts to Upper Merion which were the only points given up, the Phantoms went back to their pin happy ways. getting wins for Phoenixville were Liam McDadam, Justin Meyers, Mason Koch, Matt Wallence, Owen Koch and Dave Polanki. A handful of Phantoms picked up forfeits as well. The Phantoms have a nice little break in action as they do not return to the mats until 12/27 and 12/28 for the Wetzel Classic.

Phantoms finish in top 10 of 35 teams at Wetzel with 5 medalist
Phoenixville only sent 12 wrestlers to take on the very tough and long Wetzel Holiday Classic held at Hatboro Horsham High School. Out manned and Out numbered the Phantoms put together two great days and finished 10th out of 35 teams. With the help of 5 medalist including PWA Co-Wrestlers of the week Angelo Franzone and Anthony Stevenson who each finished on the podium. Other Phantom medalist included Justin Meyers who finished 7th at 113, Antonio Valenteen who finished 6th place and Owen Koch who finished 5th place. Franzone who had an amazing tournament knocking off the 2 seed and being less than a second away from being a finalist, finished 6th place. Stevenson finished 4th place and finished the tournament 4-2.
