We wrapped up our ICWL League meets last Saturday with some touch competition agains West Chester and Wissahickon.
Overall: 46 - 68 17 pins
West Chester: 40 - 65 16 pins
Wissahickon: 6 - 3 1 pin

We took 13 wrestlers to the Media Open and left with 8 place winners, 7 of which were in the finals. As a team we finished 6th out of 30 teams with 125 points. Wrestlers that placed at the Media Open:
First

The Koch brothers represented Phoenixville at the Souderton Tournament. At the end of the day, Owen Koch finished 3rd with a 3-1 record with 1 pin.

Not the greatest day overall but a lot of close matches where a take down or reversal would have altered the outcome in more than a dozen matches. With a few weeks left in the season, everyone is just about where they need to be in order to have a good showing for the year end tournaments and post season wrestling.

We're planning to take our team photo on Thursday, February 9th at 7:15 PM in the high school gym. A shout out to the middle school wrestlers to please join us. Wrestlers should wear their wrestling sweatshirts and coaches please wear your coaches shirts.

Because of parent/teachers meetings Thursday at the middle school, we will start practice for Group 1 and 2 at 6:30 PM and go for one hour to 7:30 PM. However, since the mats will not be rolled out we need help starting at 6:15 PM to roll out the mats. An early thanks for helping out. Group 3 will practice at the high school starting at it's normal time, 7:00 PM.

Where: Downingtown East High School, 50 Devon Drive, Exton PA (FYI - this is NOT the school we wrestled in at the Thunder Duals) Arrival Time: 7:45am Wrestling Starts: 8:30am The Middle School team does not have a meet this Saturday so all our Middle School wrestlers are welcome to join us this weekend. Please let me know by Thursday night if you are NOT attending. FYI if you plan to participate in our ICWL Tournament, you need to wrestle in at least 2 of the 3 matches that your schedule permits. If you are going to be late or can't make it because you son wakes up ill, please call or text myself or Frank ASAP. Another good meet with visiting Media, Kennett and a few wrestlers from Drexel Hill.
Overall we were 52-65 with 20 pins
Team by team results:

KEN 26-32 14 pins
MED 24-30 6 pins
There were also 5 Matches in overtime, 2 of them in double OT (both by Ryan Shepherd). In those matches we were 3-2.

The duals team competed at the 3rd annual Downingtown Thunder Duals going 1-4 on the day to finish 8th.
As a team we were 32-37 with 13 pins

Two wrestlers competed in the Upper Moreland Open. Mark Cermanski went 2-0 on the day finishing 1st. Max Shepherd went 3-1 on the day and defeating a returning PJW state qualifier twice to finish 3rd.
